IRF Welcomes Suntory as a Corporate River Champion

The International River Foundation (IRF) is pleased to welcome Suntory as a Corporate River Champion, marking the beginning of a partnership dedicated to advancing water stewardship and river resilience.

The collaboration brings together two organisations united by a shared belief that healthy waterways are essential to thriving communities, sustainable economies and resilient ecosystems.

As the world’s voice for rivers, the IRF is a global environmental not-for-profit, established with the purpose of uniting changemakers to accelerate and scale river solutions across the world. Its vision is a world of healthy and resilient rivers for future generations.

As a Corporate River Champion, Suntory will support the IRF’s vision and purpose to accelerate action for rivers through collaboration, knowledge sharing and engagement with global experts and practitioners. The partnership will create opportunities to showcase innovation, elevate practical solutions and connect leaders working to address some of the world’s most pressing water challenges.

The collaboration is part of Suntory’s local Mizu Mirai – “water future”- platform, which brings together a coordinated program of initiatives across South-East Queensland focused on research, water replenishment and education.

IRF CEO Jodie Bignall said the partnership highlights the important role business can play in creating positive outcomes for rivers and communities.

“Addressing the challenges facing rivers requires collaboration across diverse sectors. We are delighted to welcome Suntory as a Corporate River Champion and look forward to working together to share knowledge, inspire action and advance solutions that support healthy rivers and resilient communities, here in our hometown of Brisbane and worldwide.”

Together, the IRF and Suntory will champion practical, science-led approaches that help protect water at its source and create a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Together, let’s champion a world of healthy and resilient rivers for future generations.
