MoUs Signed with ARRN and ECRR

Demonstrating a commitment to working alongside international partners for our rivers, the International River Foundation signed MoUs with the Asian River Restoration Network and European Centre for River Restoration.

Extending the IRF’s global river leadership role and anchoring partnerships across Asia, we welcomed fifteen representatives from the Asian River Restoration Network (ARRN) representing China, Japan and South Korea to sign an MoU for ongoing collaborative action.

The ARRN is a non-political network promoting knowledge exchange on river and watershed restoration in Asia. It connects organisations and individuals, fostering collaboration and advancing scientific technology to enhance river environments.

We were also joined by two representatives from the European Centre for River Restoration (ECRR) to sign an MoU that lays the groundwork for future Regional River Prizes and other collaborative initiatives.

The ECRR aims to encourage and support ecological river restoration, connect people and organisations, support best practice river restoration, and disseminate knowledge.

Through these MoUs, we aim to advance the protection and sustainable management of river ecosystems, promote capacity building initiatives, and facilitate knowledge exchange to ensure the resilience of rivers and waterways in these regions.
