Anthea Gargett

Anthea Gargett is an experienced legal professional with a diverse background in corporate compliance and governance. 

Anthea has served as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary at Thiess since June 2017, also holding the position of Assistant Company Secretary.

As joint Company Secretary of the Internatioanl River Foundation (IRF) Anthea is known for her technical excellence and attention to detail, commercial mindset, and collaborative, people-focused approach, Anthea has experience across diverse sectors—including mining, food ingredients, retail pharmacy, and the not-for-profit sector. She brings a well-rounded perspective to governance, compliance and corporate administration.
Combining a commercial mindset shaped by first-hand experience in small business ownership, Anthea has a practical appreciation for how strong governance, clear systems, and sound decision-making contribute to sustainable success. 

A naturally curious, a quick learner, she thrives on simplifying complexity, enhancing governance frameworks, and building trusted, collaborative relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Beyond her corporate experience, Anthea is passionate about supporting not-for-profit and contributing her skills to organisations, like the IRF to help drive social and community impact.
