Since 2003 we have funded close to 200 delegates to attend the Symposium, providing a continuous level of invaluable support for river practitioners and scientists.

The purpose of providing financial support for Sponsored Delegates is to:

• enable individuals who cannot self fund to attend the Symposium.
• provide an opportunity for professional development.
• undertake cross-cultural sharing of resources, knowledge and expertise.
• enable capacity.
• extend and influence our global networks in ways that will assist them to achieve on-ground results in sustainable river management.

‘After exchanging experiences and techniques during the four day Riversymposium, I have developed some more ideas for research with new techniques in Pakistan. I will arrange a seminar at Karachi under the topic ‘Experiences of 9th International Riversymposium’ for university students. I and my students thank you for your support.’
