Frequently Asked Questions

I want to get involved in improving/restoring my local river/creek/wetland. Can IRF help me?

YES. IRF can put you in touch with local organisations that are already doing work in your local area.
For more information see our links

Are we eligible to participate in IRF’s twinning program?

Currently, IRF assists finalists and winners of the National and International Thiess Riverprize in establishing twinning relationships. However, we’re aiming to grow the network of twinning projects around the globe and to open the program to other catchment/watershed groups. To this end, we're building a database of river projects around the globe which potentially could become twinning partners. Please enquire with our Partnership’s Manager This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   regarding new twinning opportunities.
For more information see our Twinning Program.

Do you offer volunteer placements?

YES. We offer volunteer positions in our Brisbane-based office. There are also volunteer opportunities available with our associated twinning and Riverprize projects in Australia and overseas.
For more information and locations see Become a Volunteer.
